South African Hunting Overview

South-African Hunting at its best. Come and join South-Africa’s Finest Outfitter.

It is once again time to reflect on the past hunting season of  2010 and look at what the 2011 and future seasons will hold for us. We are very satisfied with the success we had in 2010 and considering the economic downturn we had expected bookings to be much more effected. The 2011 season is shaping up to be very interesting as we have a new lion area opened up for the first time. We also managed to obtain some excellent new concessions in the various regions of South Africa and we are sure these areas are going to produce some fantastic trophies. We are also offering new for 2011 some package type of safaris that are an excellent value for the first time safari client or a family wishing to enjoy the hunting of South Africa together.

The hunting of Southern White Rhino continues into the 2011 season. There are several options for hunting rhino is South Africa from private reserves to tendering on permits in the various government held concessions. We can tailor the type of safari for rhino to the clients needs and wishes. It sure seems like the prices for quality rhino hunting never go down so the best time to plan this type of hunt is as soon as possible. We have some excellent opportunities for 2011 season and future so please contact us for further details The Dart Hunt (Green Hunt) of Rhino remains  as an option for 2011 although there are some new regulations in place that do make it a bit more restrictive and more advance planning is required.  These "green hunts" are a great Conservation tool to be able to Micro Chip all the Rhino as the poaching of Rhino did increase and with the identification of the horns we hope to stem this tide. Please inquire for more info on our dart program.

Our Moketsi Estates area (Free State Province) is now in a position to offer a great lion hunt to our clientele. We did the first hunt for a monster Black Maned lion in April 2010 and we are happy to report that it was as exciting as what we anticipated. Please inquire for 2011 opportunities as this truly is an excellent option for a client wishing to take a great lion trophy. Lion hunting is again under pressure from the anti's in the USA and we will all do our level best to combat this attack but the reality is again, like with the rhino the best time to do a lion hunt in South Africa is as soon as realistically possible. We also have 2 new areas for trophy lion hunting in 2011 available as well in the northern part of South Africa where we are able to track the lions in the Kalahari sand which is an excellent hunt.

There are limited opportunities each season, on a tender basis in the various game reserves of South Africa including those near the Kruger Park ecosystem. These include opportunities for Buffalo, Elephant and occasionally Lion and Leopard as well. These are some of the best opportunities for top quality free range trophies and clients who may be interested should contact Doug Scandrol on this as soon as possible
