South-African Hunting at its best. Come and join South-Africa’s Finest Outfitter.
It
is once again time to reflect on the past hunting season of 2009 and
look at what the 2010 season will hold for us. We are very satisfied
with the success we had in 2009 and under the severe economic downscale
we expected much worse. The 2010 season is shaping up to be very
interesting as we have a new lion area opened up for the first time. We
also managed to obtain limited tags for Elephant/Buffalo adjacent to
Kruger Park and will inform you of the successes at the end of 2010.
As usual our prime Buffalo concession in the Klaseri Private Nature Reserve did not disappoint us and we managed to shoot some exceptional 42”+ bulls.
We were successful in obtaining a tag for the first and only Rhino Bull
in the past 5 years and took an exceptional 29” trophy. We will
be able to offer our clientele the opportunity to take a limited amount
of Elephant in this magnificent area as well. Elephant sizes are
restricted to 40 pounds but the price will be very competitive and will
make for a great hunt in an incredible area with a great lodge.
The hunting of Rhino
still remains a very controversial issue due to the price escalation.
We don’t see the prices coming down as expected and will keep you
posted as to any changes at the end of the current 2009 season. The
Dart Hunt (Green Hunt) of Rhino remains an option and is a great
Conservation tool to be able to Micro Chip all the Rhino as the
poaching of Rhino did increase and with the identification of the horns
we hope to stem this tide. Please inquire for more info on our dart
program.
Our Moketsi Estates
area (Free State Province) is now in a position to offer a great lion
hunt to our clientele. We did the first hunt for a monster Black Mained
lion in April and we are happy to report that it was as exciting as
what we anticipated. We are doing 7 more lion there this year and will
keep you updated as to the progress on this new venture.
Our prime Leopard area in Namibia
lived up to its reputation and we took 3 awesome Leopard and a great
Lion (free-roaming) in the 2009 season. For any inquiries for the first
openings in the 2011 season please get in touch with us.
To
all our clients and friends that shared the 2009 season with S&S
Safaris, thank you very much. You made it possible for us to provide
you with these excellent areas and we are proud of each and every
client's achievement. For some, it was the start of a very exciting
journey, others came to the end of their journey by completing their
Big Five or Dangerous Seven. To those who made it their first ever
African Hunting experience, share in the idea that this was but, the
first of many! The 2009/2010 season will be a real “tester”
for us all as we do not foresee the worldwide economy returning to
normal any time soon. To all the loyal S&S clients who supported us
in the past and future, a big THANK YOU! Without you, we would not have
been in a position to offer you the service we became known. Please
contact us direct for all your hunting needs and requirements as we
look forward to making you part of the S&S family.
We
are in a changeover process to move the majority of our client
administration over to our South-African office and invite you all too
please get in touch with either myself (pierrec@icon.co.za) or Amanda (amandav@icon.co.za) or give us a call at 011-27-82-573-8766.
